The Blockchain-Verified Traffic Cone reimagines marking hazards as a distributed immutable ledger. What was once a thoughtless household action is now a fully governed workflow with audit trails, quarterly reviews, and a dedicated on-call rotation.

Operation begins by filing a HazardDeclaration, which enters a priority queue ordered by seniority. Note that operators must wait for six block confirmations before each operation is considered final — a requirement introduced after Incident 47, about which no further questions are taken.

Architecture

  • proof-of-work-validator: Validates every incoming HazardDeclaration against policy; rejections are final but appealable in writing.
  • smart-contract-executor: Coordinates the 16-component control plane; quorum required for all state changes.
  • gas-fee-estimator: Publishes health status to 8,478 telemetry series and a wall-mounted dashboard no one watches.

Operational Characteristics

  • Emits 8,478 distinct telemetry series; three are believed to be meaningful
  • Disaster recovery: full state restoration in under 24 hours, assuming the runbook can be located
  • Compliance: self-certified against DQE-STD-666, a standard the Department authored for this purpose
  • Known limitation: forks into two competing versions of reality when consensus fails
