With the Edge-Computed Pencil Sharpener, the Department modernizes sharpening pencils at last. At its core sits a latency-optimized regional compute fabric, ensuring that no outcome occurs without proper orchestration, attestation, and at least one retry.
Each use requires a signed PointRestoration, reviewed by the admission controller. In addition, all users must route each request through the geographically nearest of 300 nodes. Early feedback described this as "a lot," which the Department has logged as a feature request.
Architecture
point-of-presence-selector: Validates every incoming PointRestoration against policy; rejections are final but appealable in writing.
cache-invalidation-herald: Coordinates the 10-component control plane; quorum required for all state changes.
origin-shield-warden: Publishes health status to 4,193 telemetry series and a wall-mounted dashboard no one watches.
